'Shogun' renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

"Shogun" is returning for two more seasons!

According to a report on The Hollywood Reporter, the next parts of the breakout drama are in development at FX and Hulu.

It will extend the story beyond the original novel by James Clavell, which the first season revolved around.

"Shogun" creatives, including co-creators, executive producers and writers Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo, executive producer Michaela Clavell, as well as star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada, will all return for the project, the report added.

Set in Japan in 1600, “Shogun” follows Lord Yoshii Toranaga who fights for his life against his enemies from the Council of Regents. A mysterious European ship is found in a nearby fishing village, and Lord Toranaga discovers secrets that could defeat his enemies.

The 10-episode series premiered on Hulu in February. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
