Beatrice Gomez has this to say to candidates who withdrew from Miss Universe Philippines 2024

Beatrice Gomez is among the many who are watching closely as the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 preliminary competition and coronation night draws near.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 titleholder is aware of the recent withdrawals of different candidates, which she said she understood.

“For those candidates na nagback-out, I understand whatever it is you’re going through. Your reasons are valid,” Beatrice said.

“There’s always a perfect time for you to join and come back whenever you’re ready,” she added.

Beatrice thanked the Miss Universe Philippines organization for respecting the girls’ decision.

“Para sa organization, alam ko may mga girls na nahihirapan, and actually, I am grateful for the organization kasi they’re always there to assist naman,” she said.

“Thank you very much for keeping the lines open and for giving these girls the chance to be ready whenever it is that they are ready na kung feel nila hindi para sa kanila ‘yung year na ‘to, thank you at ni-respect niyo ‘yung decision nila," she added.

When asked who she thinks should win this year’s crown, Beatrice said, “I cannot say kasi malapit na. Pero abangan niyo na lang kasi if you see me sa prelims and coronation, malalaman niyo kung kanino ako nag-cheer, then that’s my bet.”

Beatrice was among the new Sparkle stars present at the Signed for Stardom event held this week.

She was also joined by her fellow beauty queens, Gazini Ganados, Rein Hillary, and Billie Hakenson.

Meanwhile, this year’s Miss Universe Philippines preliminary round is happening on Sunday at the Fiesta Pavilion, The Manila Hotel.

On May 22, the organization will hold the grand coronation night.

Those who confirmed their withdrawal from the competition were Quezon City's Lorraine Ojimba, Kananga's Natasha Jung, Angeles City's Joanne Thornley, and the Filipino community in Washington’s representative Kiara Landon. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
