'Clueless' is reportedly getting a sequel series with Alicia Silverstone returning

“Clueless” is reportedly getting a sequel series, and Alicia Silverstone will reprise her role as Cher Horowitz!

According to Variety, the upcoming show, which will serve as a follow-up to the 1995 film, is currently in development.

The creative team attached to the project includes Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss as writers and executive producers.

Aside from starring in the project, Alicia will also executive produce, alongside Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original “Clueless” film, and Robert Lawrence, who produced the film.

The new project is a completely different iteration than the “Clueless” series that was previously in development at Peacock in 2020, Variety said.

“That show, with a completely different creative team, was described as more of mystery series in which Cher disappeared and focused instead on her best friend, Dionne,” the report added. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
