'Grand Theft Auto VI' delayed to 2026

The release date for “Grand Theft Auto VI” has been moved to May 26, 2026.

In a statement on X, Rockstar Games apologized to fans as the game is coming out later than they expected.

“The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game,” the company said.  

Rockstar Games added that their goal is to exceed expectations with GTA 6.

“We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve,” they said, and added they will share more details soon.

It was previously announced that GTA 6 is coming this 2025.

The last installation in the popular video game series, "Grand Theft Auto V," was released 12 years ago in 2013.
