Marjorie Barretto graduates from college at 51
Marjorie Barretto has reached a milestone she’s long dreamed of. She's finally graduated from college at the age of 51.
On Instagram, Marjorie shared photos from her graduation day, all smiles as she dons her cap and gown, and said "finishing college was a dream tucked away."
According to Marjorie she had put it on pause "for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life. But God never forgot."
"In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line,” she added.
For Marjorie, having her children witness the milestone is like cherry on top.
She expressed her gratitude to the Philippine Women’s University and also gave a shoutout to Ruffa Gutierrez “for starting this journey for so many of us — she graduated first, lovingly encouraged me to go back to college, and always reminded me that I could do it.”
“To my loved ones who inspired me, pushed me, and talked me out of my panic and anxieties — thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she said. “And to those my age who still carry dreams in their hearts: it’s never too late, and you are never too old, to realize the dreams God placed in you.”
Marjorie’s son, Leon, also celebrated the accomplishment in his own post, proudly writing: “Not a lot of people can say they graduated college the same year as their mom.”
Per Leon, Marjorie is truly an inspiration to him and his siblings, Dani, Julia, Claudia, and Erich.
