Tarantadong Kalbo rushed to the hospital due to transient ischemic attack
Tarantadong Kalbo, or Kevin Eric Raymundo, was “urgently rushed” to the hospital on October 5 and diagnosed with transient ischemic attack (TIA), according to posts on their social media pages.
Kevin is “currently receiving critical medical care," the post titled “Tumindig Para Kay TK" said.
It included QR Codes of digital banks to open lines for donations as "the medical bills are becoming overwhelming."
Donations will help "cover medical treatments, lab tests, medicines, and other needs," it said.
According to Mayo Clinic, TIA is often called a mini stroke and serves as a warning of a future stroke and a chance to prevent it from happening.
It is “caused by a brief blockage of blood flow to the brain" and lasts only for a few minutes. It causes minimal damage, Mayo Clinic adds.
It has symptoms similar to a stroke, including weakness, numbness, paralysis in one part of the body; slurred speech; blindness in one or both eyes; and dizziness or loss of balance or coordination.
Tarantadong Kalbo is an illustrator who burst into the mainstream with his "Tumindig" He continues to speak up on social issues and Filipino culture using his art.
