'Moana' live action introduces Catherine Laga'aia as title character in official teaser

The first official teaser of the live-action “Moana” film is here!

The minute-long teaser shows shots of Moana growing on her home island and eventually leaving it as she sings "I am Moana" from the original animated film.

A clip of the shapeshifting demigod Maui was also teased as he transformed into an eagle.

At the end of the teaser, lead star Catherine Laga'aia was shown singing, “I am Moana!”

The live-action “Moana” was announced in 2023.

The animated film starring Auli'i Cravalho followed the title character as she traveled the seas to find Maui, who would help save her island.
