'Squid Game' creator Hwang Dong Hyuk has another series in the works titled 'The Dealer'
Hwang Dong Hyuk, the creator of the hit Netflix franchise “Squid Game,” has another series in the works!
According to Netflix, Hwang is set to produce its newest Korean series “The Dealer,” which will star Jung So Min, Ryoo Seung Bum, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Ryu Kyung Soo.
“The Dealer” is a crime drama series that follows Geonhwa, a brilliant casino dealer whose wedding plans are suddenly derailed. To reclaim control of her life and make it down the aisle, she must unleash her long-hidden skills and navigate the dangerous world of high-stakes gambling.
The series will be directed by Choi Young Hwan.
Meanwhile, “Squid Game” ran for three seasons, premiering in 2021, with a second season following in 2024. The third and final season premiered in June 2025.
Following its debut, "Squid Game" set multiple Netflix records, including becoming the most popular non-English TV show and becoming the "biggest series launch ever" at the time.
