BTS announces comeback album 'Arirang'

ARMYs, assemble! BTS is making their long awaited comeback with the album "Arirang."

On Weverse, BTS announced that the album will come in two versions: “Rooted in Korea” and “Rooted in Music.” It sets out "the direction the members will take moving forward," the announcement added.

The album will have 14 tracks, filled with music "most true to BTS," while also serving as a "heartfelt expression of gratitude to ARMY, who have remained by their side with unwavering support."

Aside from the CDs, the “Rooted in Korea” version will include photo cards, badge, photo card holder, photo book, and a poster. Meanwhile, “Rooted in Music” will have lyric paper, film photo, photo cards, and photo card holder.

According to UNESCO, “Arirang” is a folk song with themes of leaving, reuniting, sorrow, and happiness. “Arirang” reinforces social relations, and helps people express their feelings and overcome grief.

“Arirang” comes out on March 20, Friday at 12 p.m. Philippine time.

It is BTS’ first project as a group in four years. This comes after the members completed their mandatory military service.

The band is set to go on a world tour starting this year, with a Philippine stop happening in 2027.

The last time that BTS performed in Manila was in May 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the “BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour in Manila.”

In recent years, the members have focused on solo projects.
