Paramount investigates 'The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender' leak
Paramount is currently investigating the leak of its highly anticipated film “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender,” Variety reported.
According to sources, the leak did not come from the company's studio.
The upcoming animated film has been marred by controversy after its full version began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) this week, ahead of its official release on Paramount+.
One of the film's animators, Julia Schoel, said the leak is disheartening for the team, who spent years bringing the project to life with the expectation of celebrating it in theaters.
She also pushed back against fans using Paramount’s decision to pull the film from theatrical release as justification for spreading the leaked version.
Paramount+ is set to release “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender” later this year.
The film picks up years after the events of the classic animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and follows a grown up Avatar Aang, who discovers an ancient power capable of preserving his people’s legacy from extinction. It follows Aang and his friends’ journey to secure it first, racing against those who would use it for destructive purposes and threaten the fragile peace that has been hard-won. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
