'One Piece' anime reboot announces February 2027 premiere

Netflix has set a February 2027 premiere for the new "One Piece" anime series, titled "The One Piece."

The streaming giant made the announcement with an artwork of young Luffy with Makino, Shanks, and the rest of the Red Hair Pirates.

Produced by Wit Studio, the new series adapts the East Blue saga of the legendary "One Piece" manga by Eiichiro Oda. It will have seven episodes.

Netflix first announced the project in December 2023, following the global success of its "One Piece" live-action adaptation.

Oda's "One Piece" has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997. The manga, as well as its original anime series, are still ongoing, although both are in the final saga of the story.

Just this March, Oda confirmed the existence of the One Piece, wrote it down on paper, and hid it at the bottom of the ocean.

Season 3 of Netflix's live-action "One Piece" is set to arrive in 2027 as well.
