PH Space Week 2026: Free webinars, exhibits, and shows to check out

In celebration of Philippine Space Week 2026, the public can take part in several free webinars, exhibits, talks, and stargazing activities across the country.

Scheduled for August 8 to 14 with the theme “Navigating Tomorrow,” the Philippine Space Week is an annual observance that aims to promote awareness of space science and technology, recognize Filipinos' contributions to the field, and highlight the role of space technology in national development.

Here are some of the free events you can join this August:

1. Planetarium show and telescope viewing

The public can enjoy free planetarium shows and telescope viewing in Quezon City from August 10 to 13.

Hosted by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA), the planetarium shows will be held at the PAGASA Planetarium, Science Garden at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, free telescope viewing will be open to the public on August 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the PAGASA Astronomical Observatory in UP Diliman.

2. Developments on MULA

Discover the latest developments in the Multispectral Unit for Land Assessment (MULA) satellite and other Philippine initiatives in satellite and rocket development.

The free talk, "Developments on MULA and Philippine Activities in SpaceTech," is scheduled on August 9 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, Quezon City.

3. TALA: Tanaw at Lakbay

The University of the Philippines Department of Geodetic Engineering, in collaboration with the Philippine Space Agency, will hold "TALA: Tanaw at Lakbay" a seminar that will discuss how geomatics engineering and space science as well as technology applications can help address challenges like environmental monitoring, disaster resilience, smart cities, and resource management.

"TALA: Tanaw at Lakbay" will run daily from August 10 to 14 at 3:30pm to 5 p.m. via Zoom.

Registration is required.

4. Moon and Rocket exhibit

The Skywatchers Society of Las Piñas, in partnership with the Philippine Space Agency and Robinsons Place Las Piñas, will hold the Moon and Rocket Exhibit on August 14 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The free exhibit at the Main Atrium of Robinsons Place Las Piñas will feature displays about the Moon, rockets, and the role of space science and technology in the Philippines.

5. Community Planetarium Day

The public can experience a mobile planetarium, solar observation, and free telescope viewing during Community Planetarium Day on August 15 at the Valenzuela City Academic Center for Excellence.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required.
