Alex Eala, Kelsey Merritt meet at New York Fashion Week

Two Filipina icons in one frame? We love that!

On Instagram, Kelsey Merritt shared a photo of herself hugging Filipina tennis star Alex Eala during the New York Fashion Week on Friday.

“Our Filipina tennis pride,” Kelsey wrote in the caption and tagged Alex.

Alex recently attended her first-ever fashion show: the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2027 runway show during New York Fashion Week.

She is set to hold the event “Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate” on December 8 at the Philippine Arena. She will face fellow Southeast Asian tennis star Janice Tjen of Indonesia at the exhibition.

Early this month, Alex bowed out of the US Open after succumbing to her friend, Iva Jovic, in the third round.
