Kiev hairdressing competition is on the cutting edge

If you've seen the "The Big Tease," the minor cult classic from 1999 starring Craig Ferguson, you might have learned that hair styling competitions are cutthroat affairs and showcases of some serious talent.

The International Crystal Angel Festival of Hairdressing, Fashion and Design in Kiev, Ukraine—now in its 15th year—is no exception.

A pageant of outlandish coifs, haircuts and body paint, the competition featured looks ranging from wearable to straight up fantasy. Participants from Ukraine, France, Italy, Greece, Belarus, Turkey and the other European countries are taking part in the annual festival in the Ukrainian capital. Take a look below:
