Philippine culture spotlighted in Kiehl’s limited edition skincare line
International skincare brand Kiehl’s is celebrating Filipino culture in its “Kiehl’s loves the Philippines” limited edition line.
Included in the limited edition line are Kiehl’s products that have been tried, tested, and loved by Filipinos, but this time, they come in a quirky packaging that embodies the Philippines.

Jeepneys, motorcycles, avocados, and bananas decorate the new packaging, giving the items a colorful and fun vibe.
The Banaue Rice Terraces, the Masskara Festival, and even a tarsier also made an appearance in the new design.
The items in the Kiehl’s loves the Philippines line were not just chosen because Filipinos love them, but also because they work well with Filipino skin.
For example, one of the newly packaged items, the classic Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner, is safe for sensitive skin and therefore appealing to the Philippine market.
“Generally Filipinos always assume that they have sensitive skin, everyone thinks they have sensitive skin, even though it’s not true. But of course, just to make sure that everyone’s really comfortable with it,” said Joan Huwang, Kiehl’s product manager.
Another is the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream that amassed followers in the country, who took to the no-shine moisturizer due to the humid weather.
“Here in the Philippines, even though it’s rainy it’s still kind of humid right? And everyone still gets oily even though it’s rainy and cold,” she said.
Other items that were given the limited edition design were the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, which features one of the most popular fruits in the Philippines, and the cult favorite Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

Kiehl’s launched the collection in a Pinoy “fiesta” held at the SM Mall of Asia. Guests can get free consultations with a team of experts, learn about the brand’s history and advocacy, and take photographs in several booths. They are also served with yummy Filipino food like turon, dirty ice cream, and sago’t gulaman. The Pinoy fiesta will run until June 15, Friday at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium. — LA, GMA News
