Catriona's designer Mak Tumang says the new Miss Universe is very proud of her roots, wants to showcase the PHL

Mak Tumang, the fashion designer of reigning Miss Universe queen Catriona Gray, dished out a few details about what the newly crowned queen will wear for her homecoming.

In a report on Unang Balita, Nelson Canlas said that her homecoming dress will have something that will represent Filipinos.

"Si Catriona, gusto niya talagang i-showcase kung anong meron sa Pilipinas. She's very proud of her roots talaga," Mak said.

Mak's beautiful creations — which Catriona carried out so well throughout the pageant — made waves the world over. Taking the spotlight was the glittering red, tube gown inspired by the Mayon Volcano that Cat wore when she was crowned.

After the pageant, Mak said he and Catriona were both full of emotions which made them speechless.

According to Mak, Catriona was short of words and could only tell him, "Thank you so much nagawa natin. We did it."

Mak narrated how Catriona has been hands on with all of her outfits for Miss Universe.

Even the designer is in awe of how the beauty queen maintained her dedication and determination from winning in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant up until her Miss Universe victory.

The designer also praised Catriona for her hunger to raise and represent the talent of a Pinoy.
