For their session, Catriona chose to wear a top by Erjohn Dela Serna, a designer from Nueva Ecija. The colorful top features intricate embroidery and bead work, inspired by Ifugao textiles.
During the interview, Catriona said that she loves local fabrics, and that wearing them makes her proud.
It's the beauty queen's way of sharing what the Philippines has to offer. Already, her outfits have garnered interest and she said that they have become a topic of conversation.
"I do love our fabrics, our textiles, our symbolism, and our culture and so many have garnered interest just from what I'm wearing," she said.
"Yeah, and I mean, it's a different approach to sharing our culture or what we have to offer through outfits. Some people might think it's just fashion, but it opens up the conversation: 'Oh, I didn't know that Philippines has that kind of fabric,' 'I didn't know that they have that to offer.' And I love seeing comments like that," she added.
Catriona held the world's attention in Thailand during the Miss Universe competition with couture pieces that celebrated Philippine fabric and culture.
