Janine Gutierrez and Mamita Pilita are the cover ladies of Preview magazine
Janine Gutierrez and her Mamita Pilita Corales are the cover ladies of Preview magazine this month.
Decked in groovy ‘70s style, the mag-lola shared their style tips and similar show business experiences with the fashion magazine.
According to Janine, Pilita’s closet is her favorite shopping place: "it's a walk-in closet that spills out to the hallway. And in the hallway there are a couple of racks: one for polos, another for coats, and for gowns. There’s also a table of accessories and jewelry. There’s also a section for her wigs. Her closet is experiential.”
In the interview, Pilita shared how her style was pretty much all her own. “There was no ‘stylist’ at that time…It was all me. There were no specific wardrobe requirements or colors to wear – as long as I was in a gown for the opening, for the Spanish portion for the next. It was an evening program and in gowns was how the executives wanted me to dress up.”
According to Pilita, she’s always wanted to look like she “cared – even if I am running errands at the bank or grocery. But it’s not because I have a fashion sense; I think I owe it to my public. You owe it to them because they look up to you.
"Nowadays, with the cellphone, anywhere you go, they take a photo of you. So at least, when you’re in the picture, you’re wearing something nice.”
The mag-lola were photographed by BJ Pascual and styled by MJ Benitez. Their makeup was done by Omar Ermita and hair, styled by Mark Familara. Read the rest of their feature here. — LA, GMA News
