Cash, appliances, and other sure-fire Christmas raffle hits

Christmas raffles are almost always the highlight of every office Christmas party.

According to informative-lifestyle TV program Ang Pinaka, some sure-fire raffle prizes this year included cash, appliances, travel tickets, and gift baskets.

Cash prizes were the most popular, said program host Rovilson Fernandez.

"100%, matutuwa lahat ang mga tao. Whether small or big 'yung amount, nakaka-excite ka makakuha ng libreng pera," chime blogger and Valerie Tan.

Neither could you go wrong with good ol' appliances like big-screen TV's, washing machines, and air conditioners.

"And best sa lahat ay TV kasi ang Pinoy, mahilig tayo manood ng TV," Tan said.

Even if winners already had a complete set of appliances at home, the feeling of winning something huge and tangible is exciting, said monologist and stage actor Janine Lloce.

Another coveted raffle prize would be a pair of all-expenses-paid travel tickets, which often includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and free breakfast. The travel tickets can range from local destinations to international tourist spots in Asia.

Gift baskets are also popular in raffles. They can come in pre-made designs, customized in-store, or curated from scratch.

These gift baskets contain an assortment of items such as noodles, sauce, ham, cheese or quezo de bola — all perfect for a hearty Noche Buena or Media Noche.

These food item gift baskets are an invaluable help in the kitchen during the Christmas season, when preparing meals for the family, according to Papa Bol from DJ Wanted Forever Brgy. LS 97.1.

"Puwede mo rin siya gamiting regalo for kamag-anak or friends," said Papa Bol, referring to the individual food items inside the gift baskets.
