OVP, Pasig City launch app to help small market vendors sell goods online
The Office of the Vice President and Pasig City have launched an app to help small market vendors from Pasig Mega Market sell their goods online.
Called "Community Mart," the app sells a variety of fruits, vegetables, meat and other products in select Pasig City barangays.
According to Vice President Leni Robredo's post on Facebook, sales through the app reached over P71,000 on its first day of its operations.
"Umaasa rin tayo na patuloy ang suporta para sa ating programa, dahil malaking tulong ito sa mga kababayan nating naudlot ang kabuhayan dahil sa COVID-19," the Robredo said.

The app, which accepts cash on delivery, offers same-day delivery as long as it reaches the 12 noon cut-off. Meanwhile, the cut off for different kinds of meat and seafood is 10 am.
The barangays chosen for the app's pilot run include those far away from the Pasig Mega Market. They are the following:
- Ugong Proper — Valle Verde
- Kapitolyo
- Oranbo
- Pineda
- San Antonio — Ortigas area
- Rosario Proper — Rosario dulo
- Sta. Lucia Proper — Sta. Lucia / Dela Paz Boundary, Sta. Lucia / Cainta Boundary
- De La Paz — Dela Paz / Santolan Boundary
- Manggahan
- Santolan
- Maybunga
Robredo said her office aims to expand the app and reach more areas in the future.
The OVP earlier launched the app in Quezon City. Residents in select barangays may purchase goods from the Kamuning Market. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
