A Manix Abrera illustration is on a t-shirt you can buy!

Well, that's cool.

Manix Abrera has partnered with local merch brand Linya-Linya in creating an iconic shirt design perfect for the most stressful of seasons.

The award-winning comic book creator will have his own take on one of Linya-Linya's famous catchphrases: "Pahingi ng Pahinga."

According to Abrera, the catchphrase is among his favorite lines from Linya-Linya, popular for its witty repartees on shirts as well as on social media, that he created an artwork using his well-known character, Bertong Badtrip.

"Super importante sa akin ng pahinga, kasi dito ako nakakaisip ng mga susunod kong ikukwento at ido-drawing," Manix said in a statement. "Important din sa akin sobra ang tunganga time kung saan nakatingala lang ako sa sky, at nag-iisip.” 

[Rest is important to me because that's when I can think about what to create next. Doing nothing is also important to me. That's when you can just look at the sky and think.]

Linya-Linya Creative Director Ali Sangalang added, "We started Linya-Linya to highlight the Filipino life through art and humor, kaya naman sobrang relate kami sa creations ni Sir Manix. This is a very special treat to hardcore Manix fans o ‘yung mga tinatawag na ‘ka-Kiko’ like myself,” referring to Manix's famous comic strip Kiko Machine.

The limited edition collab shirt, the first of many artist collaborations for Linya-Linya this year, is priced at P799. It will be available for pre-order from January 3 to 13, 2022 at www.linyalinya.ph.
