There's more to Glaiza de Castro's swimsuit than its cute and unique design

Glaiza de Castro easily caught our eye on Wednesday afternoon when she posted snaps of herself in such a cute and unique two-piece swimsuit.

In the caption, she shared the vintage-looking swimsuit she's wearing is from a brand called Winki Suits, which "has created The Blessed Project to help victims of human trafficking," Glaiza wrote.

Apparently, every piece of swimsuit from Winki Suit is sewn by a Filipina, who is recovering from trauma. "Through creating and developing new skills, they are able to overcome new challenges and see life rom a new perspective," Glaiza adds.

A click on the Winki Suits website informs us that the brand is actually a brainchild of two Australian sisters, Becky and Kip, "who share a love for waves, vintage apparel and a particular pair of brothers."

According to Winki Suits, they've teamed up with the non-government organization Honour 1000 and their Blessed Project Sewing Program, which as Glaiza earlier mentioned, "was created to rehabilitate young women rescued from human trafficking."

In its Facebook page, Honor 1000 says it's working closely with communities in Manila, Bataan, Pampanga, and Siquijor to protect children and provide sustainable livelihood as well.

The Blessed Project is just one of its many programs that aims to help rescued young Filipinos from human trafficking.

We know that's a lot of heavy information to take in. But given it's swimsuit season, perhaps you can consider Winki Suit.

Purchasing an item from the brand won't just get you a really cool and very unique swimsuit, it will also provide employment and opportunity to a fellow Filipina.

And just so you know, they ship to the Philippines. — LA, GMA News
