The Francis Libiran Universe exhibit opens its doors in Sofitel Manila

Pageant fans and enthusiasts, this one's for you!

Unveiled just before Holy Week, the Francis Libiran Universe exhibit is now open to the public for the whole months of April and May 2022 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay.

Present at the launch were Beatrice Luigi Gomez, the muse of the Francis Libiran Universe exhibit, Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee, and the man of the hour, Francis Libiran.

With 20 years of experience in haute couture, the fashion designer is no stranger to the world of pageantry. He's designed Miss Universe 2016 Catriona Gray's pink serpentine gown, the baby blue princess-cut evening gown of Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez's gold couture evening gown.

According to the celebrated designer, every piece he makes for the Miss Universe pageant is inspired by the beauty queen's personality, walk, and best physical assets.

"Before I design something for clients, I would really sit down, talk to them, and get to know them," Libiran said. "That's very important for me. I want to know how they are as a person. And I would always ask this question: how do you see yourself on that stage in front of the whole universe?"

At the exhibit launch, Bea reminisced about truly feeling like gold in her Francis Libiran gown during the finals.

"I've always believed that confidence comes from within. But it also made me realize that confidence also comes from a Francis Libiran creation," Gomez told GMA News Online.

Here's a sneak peek at the gowns you'll catch at the exhibit:
