Francis Libiran debuts art-centered SS23 collection at LA Fashion Week
Celebrity fashion designer Francis Libiran unveiled his Spring Summer 2023 collection in downtown Los Angeles earlier this month during LA Fashion Week 2022.
Dubbed as "MOSAIC: A Collection of Textiles and Pleasures," Libiran's SS23 collection features "a culmination of looks birthed by inspiring objects that entice the artistic mind, intricate mosaics, and beautiful human connection of sexual passions and intimacy."
Heavily inspired by lines, structures, and textures, the latest pieces in the collection translated into wearable art pieces fit for spring and summer.
In true Libiran fashion, the latest collection highlights the designer's signature art-deco embroidery. A perfect example would be the tranquil blue-colored ensemble with a geometric embroidery pattern.
According to Libiran, the see-through fabric is intended to add "a hint of sensuality and mystery" complemented by the art deco pattern, which elevates the look.
Meanwhile, this matching tiger orange top and floor-length skirt exude the same art deco influences, but the elaborate handiwork gave the ensembles more details.
Another crowd favorite is this blush pink coordinates which appeal to the younger market, aka the TikTok generation. The bralette top highlights a closed neck detail matched with a pair of high-waist shorts.
"I am exhilarated and euphoric to have accomplished this show seeing all my hard work come to fruition. As the designs graced the runway with all the lights and stuff, I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. Truly, having no bias, this is one of the best shows I have ever enjoyed, and for that, I am honored and over the moon," Libiran said in a press release.
Earlier this year, Libiran designed an "Agila" barong for Team Philippines in SEA Games 2022.
