Style icon Baby Araneta Forés passes away at 84

Maria "Baby" Araneta Forés, a style icon and mother of Asia's Best Female Chef 2016 Margarita "Gaita" Forés, died on Saturday at the age of 84.

Gaita, who owns the CIBO restaurant chain, shared the news on Instagram on Sunday.

"My Mother. My Rock. My Everything," she wrote.

Maria's husband was the late Dr. Raul Forés, a surgeon and one of the founders of Makati Medical Center.

Celebrities like Iya Villania, Charlene Gonzalez, Edu Manzano, and Agot Isidro expressed their condolences to Gaita on social media.
