Megan Young, Alodia Gosiengfiao, and more celebs attend fashion event for a good cause

Sustainable and local fashion for a good cause? No wonder so many celebrities and personalities stepped out for the launch of Yong Studio, a socially responsible local fashion brand "for Filipinas."

The homegrown fashion brand by designer Yong Davalos presented a new collection of "wearable art" based on the work of artist Melissa Yeung Yap.

A portion of the proceeds from the collection has been pledged for the benefit of Zonta Club of Makati and Environs (ZCME) Marillac Hills Psychological Center for Sexually Abused Girls and Children.

Celebrities and personalities like Megan Young, star of the upcoming series, "Royal Blood," supported the worthwhile event.

Alodia Gosiengfiao, accompanied by husband Christopher Quimbo, also came out to support Melissa, who happens to be her cousin.

Beauty queens like Miss Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves and Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters, and Miss Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo were also present.

In her website, Yong said that "fashion is an artistic endeavour that must be crafted under ethical conditions."

The event was held at the store's new branch at Greenbelt 5 (2/F). Yong Studio also has a branch at The Podium. — Kimberly Tsao/LA, GMA Integrated News
