Barbiecore with a ‘Marites’ twist? Thia Thomalla brings vision to life!

Have you seen Barbie dressed up as Marites?

Sparkle star Thia Thomalla brought the vision to life as she dressed up in an all-pink look in reference to a Filipino-made character, Marites!

“Marites Barbie via intercom,” Thia wrote in the caption.

She completed her look with a nail file prop, heart-shaped sunglasses, and some hair rollers while posing beside a telephone.

Marites, short for "mare, ano ang latest?", is the current word for chismosa. 

Meanwhile, Barbiecore is the latest fashion trend inspired by the fashion doll, with a movie to boot.

For last year’s "The Sparkle Spell" Halloween Party, Thia showed up as Mia from "The Princess Diaries.”

In an interview with host Gianna Llanes, Thia said "The Princess Diaries" is one of her favorite movies. It starred Anne Hathaway.
