Zip through Quezon Island above the sea in Pangasinan with Zipline by the Sea

Tired of soaking in the sun at the beaches of the Hundred Islands? Wish there were something else to do other than ride banana boats, jet skis, and go parasailing? A new attraction in the Alaminos park hopes to pique one's adventurousness once more by weaving water and sky in a familiar daredevil pastime.

An addition to the many activities available at the Pangasinan attraction, the Zipline by the Sea lets vacationers dart across either end of Quezon Island over open waters.

Stretching for 140 meters, the cables used for the zipline were imported from Singapore and can carry weight of up to 20 tons.

Long though the zipline may stretch, the heart-pounding semi-flight only takes 18 seconds to complete from one end to the other.

The new attraction is expected to add to the thousands of visitors the site received daily. Solomon Tablang, a tourism officer in Alaminos City, said the Islands receive at least two to three thousand visitors on the weekends, which he considers as low numbers.

Plans for another zipline are currently being discussed. If constructed, it will stretch between Governors Island and Virgin Island. — Rie Takumi/VC, GMA News
