Baguio looks good as a Christmas road trip destination

Ah, Baguio. Temperatures are currently in the low 20s and it’s only bound to go nippier as Christmas draws closer.

Photos of The Manor at Camp John Hay lighting up for Christmas arrived in our inbox and they're as inviting as the idea of sitting in a balcony, sipping hot chocolate having warm bibingka, in your sweater, having a glorious me time amid pine trees — over 240 pine trees to be exact, which the hotel has planted around its property to main “the old Baguio vibes”.

The hotel set up its giant tree right outside its gorgeous garden a week ago with life-sized penguins on an elevated “pond”. It looks especially gorgeous at dawn or dusk, when it begins to get cooler.

The fantasy of spending important “me time” in the City of Pines will only grow when you learn that acclaimed Chef Billy King just launched special thanksgiving and Christmas menus, which include the delicious lamb sinigang.

Guests can enjoy daily light shows until December 14 at 5:45 .p.m. and come December 15 through January 2, the hotel will add two more shows at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Plan a road trip, stay a night, and give yourself the precious gift of me time. And when you've had too much of yourself or start feeling cabin fever, you can always go explore the city. There is much to do and see — Baguio wasn't named a 'creative city' by UNESCO for nothing. — LA, GMA News

Book until November 30 for a stay until December 20 and you can  enjoy lower room rates starting at P4,150 a night.
