DOT-accredited Boracay establishments now 268, offering almost 10k rooms
The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Tuesday announced that the number of accredited accommodation establishments in the newly reopened Boracay has risen to 268, offering almost 10,000 rooms to vacationers.
In a Facebook page, the DOT said these newly accredited establishments have a total of 9,637 rooms available for guest bookings and reservations to accommodate the huge volume of tourists expected to hit the white sand beaches of the popular travel destination for the upcoming holiday season.
The Tourism department reminded the public that only these government-compliant establishments in the list were allowed to accept visitors in Boracay.
Boracay reopened to local and foreign tourists in October after being closed for six months for intensive rehabilitation.
The DOT has since limited tourist arrivals on the island to 6,405 per day — a volume within the island's carrying capacity. — MDM, GMA News
