The only PHL resort in T+L’s 2017 list of 10 Best Resorts in SEAsia has a new wing of upgraded rooms
Discovery Shores Boracay was the only PHL property included in Travel + Leisure’s list of best resorts in Southeast Asia in 2017, and when the island closed for a 6-month rehabilitation this year, the property in Station 1 of the famous White Beach used the time to fortify its status, by updating and upgrading their offerings.
When the island finally opened in late October, Discovery Shores unveiled its latest offering: The Signature Suites for which the hotel built a separate wing.
There are only 11 of them—seven one-bedrooms, 3 two-bedrooms, and 1 presidential suite — all of which sound incredibly tempting especially during typhoon season, when the wind might be too cold, the waves too strong, and the sand blows everywhere.
Each suite has a plunge pool in the balcony that you can enter into and exit from the living room or the bedroom, depending on your whim.
The suites are huge – it starts at 121 sqm – high-ceilinged with a spacious dining area, a living room, and a roomy bathroom, so cabin fever is hardly a risk.
But should that hit you nevertheless, a rooftop bar called 360 – named such because it offers 360º views of Boracay – and The Great Room are added options for guests of the Signature Suites. That's on top of the common pool area, and the Sandbar, and the restaurants, which are available for all guests of the hotel.
The Great Room is almost like a common area where board games, a few books, and the internet are to be had. A guest Experience Maker (read: conceirge) is there too, to make sure you’re getting what you pay for.
Because it is pretty steep: P32,086 a night until March 2019.
