This Filipina visits the iconic military village in 'Crash Landing on You'

A Korea-based Filipina visited the iconic North Korean military village in the hit Korean drama series "Crash Landing on You" (CLOY).

The woman, who is using the name "Mee in Korea" on Facebook, shared photos of the shooting place located in Taean, South Korea.

If you have watched CLOY, this place would look easily recognizable to you—it's the military village where Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok and Seri's ajumma (aunt) friends lived.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Mee said she learned the location from a Korean man who posted a photo on Korean platform Naver and Instagram.

When Mee told her husband about the place, he told her it was far away from where they lived. The next day, her husband surprised her and told her they will be visiting the place.

According to Mee's post, the place is open to the public when she visited on February 11.

She said the place was only staged and set up for CLOY.

If you're visiting Korea anytime soon, Mee included suggestions on how you can reach this place via public transportation.

"You can try to use bus from Seoul terminal in Gangnam going to Taean, then from Taean terminal you can use the bus or taxi (pero mahal nga lang pag taxi dahil medyo malayo pa eto from the terminal) going to Moseokwon pension house. Pagdating sa pension house, be ready sa lakaran papunta dito sa north korean village dahil hindi pwede ang sasakyan sa loob," she said.

Mee said visiting the place earlier is better since taxis rarely pass by in the area and visitors should also check the bus schedule.

"Kung fan ka ng CLOY tulad ko at andito kayo sa korea, worth it ang pag punta sa lugar na eto kahit malayo dahil makikita mo talaga ang mismong lugar at mga gamit na ginamit nila sa drama," she wrote.

"Crash Landing on You" is 16-part series cross-border love story between a rich South Korean fashion businesswoman Yun Se-ri (played by Son Ye-jin) and a North Korean military officer Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin.)

CLOY started streaming on Netflix on December 14. Its final episode launched on Monday, February 17 (Manila time).
