Kayangan Lake in Palawan boasts crystal clear waters sans tourists amid pandemic

Kayangan Lake in Coron, Palawan used to be filled with tourists swimming in the waters, but it is now empty and quiet due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Photos taken by YouScooper Japhet Tusi Daco on July 28 showed the Kayangan Lake looking all serene and beautiful, showing off its crystal clear waters.

Japhet said he has been working as a freelance tour guide since 2014, but he temporarily lost his job due to the pandemic and stopped going to Kayangan Lake for four months.

Pagpunta namin walang ibang tao. Malamok, we hiked 367 steps and everything paid off," he said.

"When we reached the lake we didn't touch the water for almost 30 minutes. And I took a lot of photos like what I am doing before the pandemic," he added.

According to Japhet, only residents are allowed to visit Kayangan Lake since June 1.

—Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
