Planning to spend Christmas in Baguio? This is what the new normal looks like

There nothing like Christmas in Baguio, and luckily, the city is slowly opening its doors to tourists again.

On "Unang Hirit," local vlogger Rhea Calimbas gave a tour of one of the city's attractions, the Baguio Sky Ranch, and showed how protocols have changed in the park while the country continues to battle the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

First, Rhea went to the "Baguio Eye," the famous ferris wheel that gives a breathtaking view of the entire city.

She said that each carriage now only had a capacity of two people to ensure social distancing.

Visitors can also try the 17-meter Drop Tower, which used to have a capacity of 12, but now only allows six persons per ride.

Kids can get on board the Lolly Swing, but only one person per seat is allowed, unless you are family and live in the same house.

Another exciting ride is the Sky Cruiser, which is a mini bike that lets you pedal on an elevated track.

Visitors of the amusement park are required to wear face masks and face shields.

Baguio Sky Ranch is open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, GMA News' Darlene Cay visited the famous Burnham Park to give an online tour.

The park is slowly returning to life after a month-long closure.

For now, the local government has only allowed a limited number of residents to enter the park at a time, and they are required to follow social distancing protocols.

They are allowed to ride the popular boats, but only two to three persons are allowed per ride.

Tourists from Region I will be allowed to visit the park starting September 22. —JCB, GMA News
