35-foot Christmas tree lights up in Baliuag, Bulacan to honor frontliners

A 35-foot pandemic-inspired Christmas tree was lit up in Baliuag, Bulacan, to honor frontliners battling the coronavirus disease.

According to Mariz Umali’s report on “24 Oras” Friday, the Christmas tree is made up of plastic cups, wood and other recyclable materials.

Attached to the tree are decors that represent the coronavirus, and although they’re spread out all over the tree, the light coming from the star on top “outshines” the “viruses.”

“Para mas maging inspiration pa po sa lahat po ng aking kababayan,” Baliuag Mayor Ferdie Estrella shared. “Syempre ‘yung mga frontliners nga po talaga ’yung tumutulong samin dito, talagang nagbigay, nagbuwis-buhay.”

Vendors surrounding the Christmas tree have also began selling puto bumbong and bibingka. Open every night, the attraction closes every 10 p.m. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
