Philippines named 2nd most 'Instagrammable' place in the world by travel website

The Philippines has been recognized as one of the most Instagrammable places in the world for 2021 by renowned travel website Big Seven Travel.

And it didn't just make it to the list — it's up there at number two!

The article described the Philippines as "home to incredible natural wonders like an underground river and tranquil rice terraces in addition to a vibrant culture and history spanning several millennia; and over 7,500 islands."

"The Philippines as a whole are extremely Instagrammable. From the bustling capital of Manila complete with colourful colonial streets to the absolute oasis of Boracay, the gram opportunities here are endless," it added.

Number one in the list of fifty is Tokyo, Japan; third is Paris, France, followed by New York City, New York, and then Istanbul, Turkey.

The Department of Tourism expressed its delight about the news on Facebook.

"The Department of Tourism (DOT) celebrates the inclusion of the Philippines in the Most Instagrammable Places in the World list of the renowned travel website Big 7 Travel for the year 2021," it said.

Last year, Boracay and Palawan were also included in Condé Nast’s 25 Best Island Beaches in the World list. —JCB, GMA News
