Doha's Hamad International Airport named best airport in the world

The Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar was named the Best Airport in the World this year, results of a global survey by research firm Skytrax revealed.

The Tokyo Haneda Airport came in second, last year's number one Singapore Changi Airport on the 3rd spot, and Incheon International Airport, and the Narita International Airport coming in at 4th and 5th place.

Also in the Top 10 are Munich Airport, Zurich Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Kansai International Airport, and the Hong Kong International Airport.

According to Skytrax, the results were from the annual customer survey done from August 2020 to July 2021. Most passengers voted based on their pre-pandemic and amid COVID-19 experiences.

The World Airport Awards began in 1999 and has since assessed customer service and facilities across over 500 airports worldwide. — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA  News
