MPTC gets TRB OK for new toll rates at CAVITEX R1 Extension

Pangilinan-led Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. on Tuesday announced it has secured the approval of the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) for the collection of the second-tranche toll rates at CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension.

In a news release, MPTC said motorists using the seven-kilometer CAVITEX R1 Extension —covering the Zapote, Las Piñas to Kawit, Cavite segment— will be charged P103 for Class 1, P207 for Class 2, and P310 for Class 3 vehicles beginning October 28, 2026.

The new toll rates stemmed from the approved 2020 and 2023 toll petitions filed by CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) and Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) for the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension.

In particular, MPTC said the 2020 and 2023 toll petitions covered periodic toll adjustments due for implementation in 2021 and 2024, respectively.

To help cushion the impact on motorists, the approved toll adjustments were divided into two tranches.

The first tranche was implemented in October 2025, while the second tranche will be collected starting October 28, 2026.

Serving more than 50,000 motorists daily, the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension is a key economic corridor connecting Metro Manila to Cavite and Southern Luzon, according to MPTC.

Motorists will also experience faster travel time in the Southern Luzon corridor to Metro Manila as CAVITEX will soon connect to CALAX via the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink), it added. —VAL, GMA News
