RP-listed contact center appoints new head for Nicaragua operations

MANILA, Philippines - Listed call center eTelecare Global Solutions on Thursday said it has named a veteran BPO executive to run its newly acquired operations in Nicaragua. eTelecare disclosed that Randall K. Harris will join eTelecare as Senior Vice President, Latin American Operations. Harris will oversee the setting up of a new service delivery center near Managua, Nicaragua which eTelecare disclosed last week. eTelecare entered into a joint venture with Almori BPO Services, Inc., a Texas corporation, to set up the eTelecare Global Solutions Nicaragua, S.A. The new facility will be operational by the fourth quarter and will employ 500 employees catering to the bilingual market in the United States. Harris was formerly with Sitel, another call center, where he supervised 9,500 employees in the Latin American region. He also earlier headed some operations in India and the Philippines. eTelecare CEO and President John Harris (no relation) said the experience of Randall Harris in several delivery centers will be helpful to eTelecare’s plans to expand in the Latin American region. On Wednesday, eTelecare reported a drop in its first semester net income to $2.5 million from $11.187 million due to increases in total costs and expenses. But president John Harris expressed confidence that the company is still on track to meet its yearend revenue goal that ranges from $300 to $310 million. eTelecare is listed in Nasdaq and the Philippine Stock Exchange. Its major operations are located in the Philippines and North America. - Veronica C. Silva, GMANews.TV
