Budget carrier offers new promo to ward off competition

MANILA, Philippines - Stiff competition has prompted an international low-cost carrier to offer reduced rates for flights to Singapore from Manila. Jetstar Asia, a subsidiary of Qantas Airways of Australia, is offering one-way seats from Manila to Singapore at $15 per passenger, or about P700. The amount does not include airport taxes, administration fees, insurance, service fees and fuel surcharge. Jetstar Asia is offering the promo for flights until November 15. Other low-cost carriers offering cheap flights to Singapore from the Philippines include Cebu Pacific Air and Tiger Airways. Budget carriers have brought down air fares by as much as 50 percent as they offer no-frills flights to domestic and regional destinations. - GMANews.TV
