PAL adds regional flights for holiday travelers

MANILA, Philippines –Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Wednesday said it is increasing its capacity to prime destinations in the Asia Pacific region in anticipation of a rise in passenger volume during the Christmas season. PAL is allocating more flights to Singapore, Osaka and Fukuoka in Japan, and Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. The expansion follows the airline's announcement last week of increasing its capacity to Bangkok in Thailand. The flag carrier's service to Singapore will increase to 28 from 25 flights weekly starting October 26 with additional mid-morning and mid-afternoon flights. PAL will be flying daily to Osaka starting October 26, an upgrade from its current five-times-weekly frequency. On the same day, PAL is also adding one flight per week to the Manila-Fukuoka route from the existing four-times-weekly schedule. With the expansion in place, PAL will be flying its Airbus A330 for daily flights to Australia starting November 30. Flights from Manila to Sydney are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; while flights from Manila to Melbourne are on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. PAL said more schedule upgrades are in the offing to accommodate the surge of passenger volume in the latter part of the year. - GMANews.TV
