Globe Telecom ties up with Asia Miles for rewards program

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom, Inc., the telecommunications unit of the Ayala Group, teamed up with travel rewards group, Asia Miles, to provide perks to heavy mobile communication users. Globe Telecom Platinum service subscribers can earn 40,000 Asia Miles points for every P120,000 worth of usage or upon the renewal of their membership every two years, whichever comes first. The mileage is equivalent to one business class trip or two economy class round trip tickets to Hong Kong. Accumulated points may also be used for other Cathay Pacific destinations and other Asia Miles partner airlines. “What we want is to satisfy this high-end segment of our postpaid market. They have a different profile compared to the lower segments so we need to provide them with a different experience," said Ferdinand dela Cruz, head of Globe’s consumer wireless business group. Dela Cruz added that Globe Telecom is also looking for other packages which may be provided to other subscribers. “This is just the first of the many tie-ups with Asia Miles. We also hope to partner with others to provide various packages to our subscribers," he said. - GMANews.TV
