Cebu Pacific cancels Manila-Caticlan flights


(2nd Update) MANILA, Philippines - Runway closure in the Caticlan airport forced Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific Air Inc. to cancel its Manila-Caticlan-Manila flights Thursday, the budget carrier said. However, it is mounting extra flights to Kalibo, Aklan to accommodate affected passengers. Cebu Pacific Air Inc. vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog told GMANews.TV a Zest Air aircraft is obstructing the runway. "Flights today are canceled. We are still waiting for advisory as to when ZestAir aircraft will be removed and when we can resume operations. In the meantime, we have added extra flights to Kalibo to accommodate our affected passengers," she said. Another advisory will be issued Friday. Formerly known as Asian Spirit Airlines, Zest Airways currently serves local routes from Bacolod to Busuanga.
