Shareholders approve change in ATR Kim Eng's corporate name

ATR Kim Eng Financial Corp. on Monday announced that its shareholders approved the change in corporate name to MayBank ATR Kim Eng Financial Corp (Maybank ATR KE Financial). In a statement posted at the Philippine Stock Exchange website, the financial service firm said the new name reflects Maybank's acquisition of Kim Eng Holdings (now known as Maybank Kim Eng) last year and represents a further step in Maybank's strategy if developing its pan-ASEAN financial services platform. "In turn, Maybank Kim Eng is expected to accelerate the build-up of its investment banking and equities platform in the region," the company said. In the Philippines, Maybank strengthened its presence through the increased shareholdings of Maybank Kim Eng in ATR KimEng last year, while retaining its entire management team. The Securities and Exchange Commission has also earlier approved the changes in corporate names of subsidiaries ATR KimEng Capital Partners Inc., ATR KimEng Securities Ins. and ATR KimEng Fixed Income Inc. to Maybank ATR Kim Eng Capital Income Inc. respectively. -- CMA/OMG, GMA News
