As if the latest round of price hikes for diesel and gasoline were not enough, prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have gone up as well. Effective Thursday, Liquigaz hiked prices of its LPG by P6 per kilo or P66 per 11-kg tank, radio dzBB reported early Thursday. The firm cited rising prices of LPG in the world market for its decision to hike prices, the report said. Earlier this week, Eastern Petroleum, Phoenix Petroleum and Total raised prices of their diesel and gas by 50 centavos per liter. The price hikes had prompted militant groups to stage protest actions. Militants on Wednesday picketed an oil company's office in Makati City and marched to Mendiola Bridge near Malacañang to dramatize their protest. — LBG, GMA News
