Outsourcing firm Arvato to expand Philippine operations

The business processing outsource company (BPO) Arvato on Wednesday announced its plans to further expand its operations in the Philippines that will provide more jobs.   “Arvato has already increased its highly skilled workforce in the region by 50% in the last six months,” the company noted in a statement.   “The expansion plans will enable a 50% growth in headcount over the next 12-18 months and revenue growth of up to 25% over the next three years from the region,” Arvato said.   The statement noted that the Arvato chose to expand in the country because of a skilled workforce and low-cost operations compared to other countries in the region. Debra Maxwell, Arvato Philippines country manager, said in an e-mail to GMA News Online, “We will hire 200 additional employees over the next 12-18 months and we hope to reach 1,000 by 2015."   “Our Manila location provides organizations with a highly skilled, flexible and reliable workforce combined with a secure, high-spec infrastructure that can be mobilized in days, not months,” Maxwell said in a statement.   “Expanding our capabilities in Manila enables us to grow our partnerships with existing clients, as well as provide a compelling proposition for organizations looking to reduce costs and standardize global operations,” she added.   Arvato opened shop in the Philippines four years ago, providing revenue processing, query management and customer service. —With Rouchelle Dinglasan/VS, GMA News
