LPGMA planning to bring down prices by P3 per kilo

After a big-time rollback by major oil players, independent dealers of liquefied petroleum gas are planning to hold a major rollback of their own.

The LPG Marketers Association is planning to bring down prices of its members' products by P3 per kilo or P33 per 11-kg tank, radio dzBB reported Tuesday.

However, the LPGMA did not immediately say when the P3 per kilo price cut will take effect.

Petron and Shell cited lower world prices of the commodity in rolling back prices by P5.50 per kilo or P60.50 per 11-kg tank.

Petron also brought down prices of its Xtend auto LPG by P3.40 per liter, the report said.

On Sunday, the LPGMA brought down prices of its members' products by P1 per liter or P11 per 11-kg tank.

LPGMA party list Rep. Arnel Ty had also cited lower world contract prices of LPG as their reason for bringing down prices.

The LPGMA's members presently sell their products at P573 per 11-kg tank.

LPG dealers had brought down prices of their products in past weeks, citing the downward trend of contract prices of the commodity.

The price rollbacks have been a relief for households and small businesses using cooking gas, who had been reeling from rising costs of living. –KG, GMA News
