Cebu Pacific launches six new inter-island routes


Cebu Pacific Air Inc. on Monday said  it is adding more planes and launching six new inter-island routes this year. Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said in a statement the airline will add three more Airbus A320 aircraft to its network. Seven more will follow in 2013. The new routes will be thrice-weekly flights between Cebu and Busuanga, and between Tacloban and Legazpi, starting Oct. 4; from Davao to Butuan, Davao to Dipolog, and Tacloban to Iloilo from Oct. 5; and an Airbus A319 service between Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro three times a week beginning Oct. 20. The airline is offering an introductory P488 all-in seat sale for these new routes, valid for travel from Oct. 4 to Dec. 18. Cebu Pacific is also offering P488 seats for travel from Iloilo to Puerto Princesa and General Santos, and from Cagayan de Oro to Bacolod from Nov. 8, 2012 to Jan. 31, 2013. CEB currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 20 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. Its fleet of 38 aircraft – with an average age of 3.6 years – is the largest in the Philippines. Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will acquire 22 more Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft. It is slated to begin long-haul services in the 3rd quarter of 2013. — BM/VS, GMA News
