AirAsiaGo sees 2013 Asia Pacific online travel bookings at $91B
AirAsiaGo, a joint venture of Expedia Inc. and AirAsia, sees online travel bookings in Asia Pacific reaching $90.8 billion in 2013 as travel and tourism grow by 9 percent. According to the online travel booking company, the Philippines is among the region’s fastest-growing markets as more Filipinos go online to book their trips because it is easier, more simple, and convenient. To capture a larger share of the ASEAN market, AirAsiaGo said it is offering clients from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand up to 80 percent discount on 1,500 hotels in major tourist destinations in Asia Pacific. “The further ahead they book, the more savings and value they can get from both flights and hotels,” said AirAsiaGo Philippines marketing head Jasmin Eusebio-Yu. “Thousands of Trip Advisor consumer reviews and Google maps make it simpler to book hotels and get instant confirmation at our website,” Eusebio-Yu noted. “Best of all, they can pay in Philippine peso so there are no hidden credit card charges,” she added. — VS, GMA News
