Isuzu sees 4-unit sales hike
Isuzu Philippines' sales for January and February improved by four units from the same period last year, according to a company statement Monday. The company sold 1,750 units in the first two months of 2013 compared to 1,746 in the first two months of 2012. A dip occurred in February, with sales dropping by 10 percent to 916 units from 1,019 units. However, sales of the Alterra sports utility vehicle surged 94.3 percent that month to 68 units from 35 in February 2012. For the two-month period, sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks grew 21.1 percent to 46 units from 28, while sales of the Crosswind rose 1.9 percent to 1,006 units from 987 units last year. Isuzu is a member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI). It manufactures 90 percent of the vehicles it sells in the Philippines in the country with the exception of the Alterra, which is produced in Thailand. — BM, GMA News
